Shrouded is a survival horror RPG created by the independent game developer MY5TCrimson, best known for Sonic.EXE - The Game. The first demo version was published online in 2019. The teaser has already garnered its fair share of attention from online gamers awaiting the official full release. In a recent update, MY5TCrimson revealed that a second demo is coming soon.

What Is Shrouded?

Shrouded is a survival-horror role-playing game created by independent game developer Adam Gavigan, also known as MY5TCrimson. The anime-style game focuses on the adventures of a young college student named Carmen and is set in the dusty, shrouded Greenhaven Public Library in the sleepy little American town of Greenhaven.

For an indie game, Shrouded boasts stunning 2D anime-style visuals. It includes a solid soundtrack by co-composers Noah McKnight and Liam Wells. The game also features the talents of several voice actors, including Alexis Monteith, Edwyn Tiong, and Liam Wells, which add to the overall story.

Don’t Be Afraid To Play

Your survival test takes place in the Public Library of Greenhaven, USA. There is something unusual about this musty old library, but no one knows exactly what or why. It was once a lauded landmark in which the locals took pride, but in 1978, it fell into a state of dusty disuse.

Most of its sections and corridors are locked and closed to the public’s prying eyes. Why it was closed is anyone’s guess. There may be a connection to the mysterious disappearances of 27 Greenhaven residents. The local authorities investigated over the past 20 years, and yet, years later, the case remains unsolved and cold.

You are Carmen Flynn, a young college student, guitarist, and history buff. Thus, you have come to the cryptic Greenhaven Library to learn what’s what. After all, the many disappearances are an excellent subject for your upcoming term paper.

Mind you, researching this paper could be a killer. Still, there’s no place to do the homework but at the infamous library. Don’t be too scared, though, as you have your little brother Charlie by your side. You must monitor him as he is a bit spirited. Then again, his love of video games and penchant for electronics could come in handy.

Grim Greenhaven Library holds many sinister secrets that will make your pending paper a mere afterthought. Now you must focus on solving the plethora of puzzles hidden here to solve the mystery of the long-forgotten disappearances of 1978 and ensure your survival. Find the clues hidden amongst the library stacks.

Put the clues in your notebook to aid you in overcoming an assortment of difficult situations. Save and use different tools to help you through the dark corridors, incoming halls, and wild, winding pathways. Finally, never forget to stay at least one step ahead of the ever-present threat of the anonymous, insane friend stalking your every step.

You can run, you can hide, you can even set traps. Do whatever you can to survive.

Overall, the current demo version of Shrouded is quite fun and shows great promise. With an engaging story, solid graphics, synchronized sound design, and a thrilling atmosphere, we are eagerly awaiting the second demo version of this exciting indie game.
