Developed by LavaFlame2, Legends of IdleOn - Idle MMO is an idler MMO that seeks to fulfill a niche not often explored in the MMO space. Much of the idle game's inspiration comes from titles such as Runescape and Maplestory. 

Legends of IdleOn is free-to-play on PC (via web browser and Steam) and Android devices. With cross-play enabled, you can play the game on your computer and still interact with people using a phone account.

There is, of course, no shortage of MMOs available today, so Legends of IdleOn has to develop something that allows it to stand out. Thankfully, it does that in the sheer breadth of its options. 

Familiar, but the Characters Are Not!

As an MMO, Legends of IdleOn - Idle MMO doesn't break new ground, and if you're going to stand out in the MMO world, this is virtually a requirement. The plat is the same: You grind your way through missions, clear dungeons, explore new areas, and so much more.

While the gameplay isn't anything new, the character emphasis is. Older players may remember games like EarthBound, which combined modern-day sensibilities and fantasy. Much of the aesthetic of Legends of IdleOn takes off on this idea. There are walking carrots, dancing druids, and other very, very strange bad guys. It looks like someone went on an LSD trip and designed a video game. It's interesting, and if you are looking for a new twist on a relatively stagnant universe, Legends of IdleOn may provide a good break.

Unfortunately, while Legends of IdleOn may alter appearances, it doesn't do anything unique within this space. That's a big letdown.

2D Pixel Art Fun

Legends of IdleOn - Idle MMO's graphics are a pretty standard 2D pixel art style. You are either into this retro look or you're not. Regardless of a gamer's visual preferences, some of the bosses do stand out, and animations can be sharp and eye-catching. However, there isn't anything special here. As for sound, in most places, there is no sound, which is a bit disappointing.

Design Your Character

One of the best gameplay aspects of Legends of IdleOn - Idle MMO is its impressive character design features. The MMO boasts dozens of classes, skills, weapons, spells, and so much more. You can creatively design whoever and whatever you want. Furthermore, as an idle game, you gain skills and experience points regardless of whether or not you are playing. Of course, so does everyone else, so that's not that much of an advantage.

One of the better aspects of the game is that you can manage various characters, then use those characters to jointly strengthen each other, increasing your ability to level up and beat big bosses. Furthermore, you can work with other players to take down a boss. 

The actual gameplay, thankfully, is a breeze. On the computer, it's point-and-click. On your phone, you use your finger. There are also other systems and subsystems that you will need to master, like inventory management. You can throw yourself into this game and get deeply immersed in its variety of gameplay options.

Legends of IdleOn has a slew of other options, including mini-games, crafting, potion brewing, and more. You can also chat with other players over the keyboard. While these are great additions to the game, they don't offer anything unique in the MMO world.

An MMO With a Bright Future

As an active game, Legends of IdleOn - Idle MMO is expanding its world, which means that players can easily find new content. As such, if you like the game, you won't get bored. More to the point, by their very nature, MMOs have a high replay value. You will not have a problem finding more things to do in this game, and the fact that you can constantly interact with other people means that you can always find a new way to approach a mission or content to collect.
