The Hello Neighbor Story

In Hello Neighbor, you and your family move to a brand new neighborhood in the suburbs. It doesn't take you long to notice the apparent lack of children playing in the streets. Upon further inspection, you note the cagy behavior form your neighbor across the street. Something seems a bit off, almost like he's hiding something. You often notice him looking over his shoulder to see if anyone is watching him. Eventually, the questions bouncing around in your head are too much to ignore, you have to know what this guy's deal is. He has to be up to no good. Finally, you decided that the only way to know for sure is to break into your neighbor's basement to see what he's hiding down there. Because that seems logical; right?

Hello Neighbor Game Play

Act 1

While playing Act 1, you begin by playing in the street, but you notice your neighbor acting suspiciously. It appears that he could have been locking something or somebody in one of the rooms in the house. Your mission is to break into the house and find the key to the door.

Act 2

During Act 2 you found the key to the room but somehow wake up locked in a dark basement dungeon. However, escaping isn’t so simple your neighbor has raised a giant fence preventing any escape. The player must solve puzzles including map there way through the giant-sized maze of doors and traps.

Act 3

Years pass, and you decide to return to the neighborhood. On your return, you find out the neighbor's house is now in ruins. Relieved, you find sanctuary in your old home. Gamers will solve even more complex puzzles with a darker more horrific visuals and see if you can make it out of the nightmare for good.

Solve Puzzles 

The clues become increasingly difficult to find but bring players ever closer to discovering what the crafty neighbor is hiding. Also, players only carry four items at a time. What things to bring and leave add versatility in problem-solving. It makes all the sleuthing that much more rewarding.

Play Against Advanced AI

The video game AI is impressive. It remembers past interactions with players and the neighbor learns from these experiences. Then, he changes his behavior. A once-clear hallway might next time become overrun with traps that the neighbor set up. He watches and actively records players' choices, big and small alike. Knowing the neighbor waits just around the corner adds to the suspense of the game. No one knows where the neighbor lurks next, or what his tricks contain when players get caught!
