South East Games is an independent game development studio based in Gold Coast, Australia. The company was founded by Matt Carr and Shane Carr on October 2, 2009. In the early days, the cousins released several iOS games but their first official PC release was Probably Archery in 2014. A few years later the cousins launched their flagship game, Paint the Town Red. The action beat 'em up game launched on Early Access in October 2015 but on July 29, 2021, made its 1.0 and console debut.
